  • Potawatomi Zoo announced the names of three fennec fox kits born on September 26 at its local facility. J.R. Fox Jewelers named the kits Lucy, Jewel and Sonny — Lucy and Sonny honor the founders’ parents while Jewel reflects the business name.  WSBT
  • Snow tubing hills at St. Patrick's County Park and Ferrettie Baugo Creek County Park are open today from noon until 5 p.m. — tickets are available at 11:45 a.m. at the gatehouses for $5 plus a vehicle fee.  WSBT

  • South Bend bars expect a boost when Indiana and Alabama start their Rose Bowl watch party today at 4 p.m. — even with Notre Dame students away for break, local owners count on IU fans and winter visitors to drive turnout.  ABC 57

  • Millions of Americans will soon learn if their paychecks face up to 15% student loan garnishment as the process resumes after a 5-year pause & IU South Bend economics professor Klajdi Bregu advises negotiating income-based repayment plans before garnishment starts.  WSBT

  • Starting today, SNAP recipients cannot use benefits for sugary drinks or candy as part of Governor Braun's Make Indiana Healthy Again campaign, and local retailers like East Race Market are updating cashier guides (a process described as not onerous by owner David Matthews) after USDA waiver approval.  ABC 57
