- ➤ According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, gas prices in the Midwest remained essentially unchanged last week at $2.61 per gallon (roughly 7.3% below the national average) despite a 13-cent decline from last month and a 9% drop from last year. South Bend Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Karl King Towers remains without heat for nearly half of its residents, with Portage Township Trustee Jason Critchlow — the official overseeing complaint filings — saying residents use space heaters, blankets and ovens for warmth, and the township has filed a complaint with the Attorney General about living conditions. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Notre Dame wide receiver Jordan Faison will drop lacrosse to focus only on football this spring—he caught 49 passes for 640 yards in 2025. The change aims to let him sharpen his skills for upcoming games. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ Michigan State receiver Nick Marsh, who earned honorable mention All-Big Ten last season, will visit Indiana today through Jan. 4 and Notre Dame Jan. 5-6 and may schedule an extra visit. He recorded 100 catches for 1,311 yards with the Spartans. South Bend Tribune
