  • St. Margaret’s House hosts its Winter Walk on Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. starting in its parking lot on Washington Street; participants will walk a mile ending at South Bend City Church to raise funds for women who rely on daily walking while the building undergoes renovation (with community partner support).  South Bend Tribune

ECONOMY NEWS

  • In 2025, St. Joseph County saw record tourism driven by Notre Dame football games, a concert, and new attractions including a major New Carlisle project that added 141,000 rooms as rental bookings climbed 20%. This boost brought $1.5 billion and 5.7 million visitors with nearly 13,000 tourism jobs.  WSBT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Better Business Bureau serving Northern Indiana warns online daters in South Bend about romance scams that may trick victims into moving stolen funds. It advises stopping contact, alerting banks, and reporting suspicious activity to the FTC.  South Bend Tribune

SPORTS NEWS

  • South Bend Riley beat Adams 87-67 in the NIC boys basketball game with Tyrese Jones & Da'Kori Parker each scoring over 20 points, fueling the team's win.  South Bend Tribune
  • Notre Dame basketball programs will open the 2026-27 season on Sunday, Nov. 1 in Rome (Italy), with the men’s team playing its first regular season game abroad and the women’s team following later to kick off their season. Both games require an NCAA waiver.  South Bend Tribune
