- ➤ Eddie Bauer stores in Indiana may close after the operator failed to secure a buyer, documents show. The retailer filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 9 and is now holding store-closing sales while marketing leases for its five locations. South Bend Tribune
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ South Bend NAACP is urging Penn-Harris-Madison schools to revise the student code and form an implicit bias task force after a Penn High student broadcast racial slurs during a March 6 basketball game. P-H-M officials said they addressed the incident but cannot share details due to federal privacy laws. South Bend Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City crews will restart the leaf pickup program on March 23 in Zone 7, with crews returning to Zone 1 after completing Zones 7-9. Residents do not need to call for service and must rake leaves free of debris for collection by 6 a.m. on their scheduled day. South Bend Tribune

- ➤ Beacon Health System in South Bend is easing cancer care by using a coordinated team that guides patients like Suzie (diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma) through clear treatment steps from diagnosis onward. WSBT
