- ➤ On Friday, March 13, high winds left over 27,000 I&M customers without power in Michiana, including 10,683 in South Bend, as crews assessed damage and cleared hazards, delaying repairs until winds subsided. South Bend Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ St. Joseph County Emergency Management is adding eight new tornado sirens during severe weather preparedness week to improve alerts in growing areas (including New Carlisle), with five set to be operational by month's end using $1.5 million in ARP funds (from the pandemic). WSBT
- ➤ INDOT will hold a public hearing on a proposal to convert the intersection at State Road 23 and Adams Road into a roundabout on Tuesday, Mar. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the Granger Missionary Church; officials say the plan may ease traffic flow, though some local residents worry + about congestion.
