GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Road 2 in St. Joseph County is being resurfaced, which will lead to alternating lane closures from now until mid-November. Drivers between Timothy Road and the U.S. 20/31 bypass should expect delays during busy times—this 14-mile project is part of a larger resurfacing effort. WSBT
- ➤ A South Bend lawyer, Sean Hilgendorf from the Hilgendorf Law Office, will be suspended for 180 days starting April 25 after the Indiana Supreme Court found he did not provide proper representation or keep his client informed. He can ask to have his law license reinstated after his suspension ends. ABC 57

- ➤ Notre Dame women's basketball will play TCU in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. Notre Dame reached the Sweet 16 for the fourth straight season and TCU, built around key transfer players, is set to try and win its first game with a battle that a scout predicts could go to double overtime. - ➤ J.R. Konieczny, a former standout from South Bend Saint Joseph High, entered the Notre Dame basketball transfer portal Monday after four seasons with the team. He appeared in 32 games this season (averaging 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds) and the portal will remain open until April 22. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ Notre Dame added transfers Will Pauling and Devonta Smith who already met last September when Pauling caught nine passes for 83 yards against Smith, and both now practice under coach Mike Brown. Pauling, who got better after a January foot surgery + said his friendly rivalry with Smith pushes him to work hard + as they get ready for upcoming games. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ No. 3-seed Notre Dame beat Michigan 76-55 at Purcell Pavilion Sunday to advance to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. They will face No. 2-seed TCU, who beat Louisville 85-70 on Sunday, in a game scheduled for Friday (ticket prices start at $97 for all session seats and $12 for single session). South Bend Tribune
