  • Indiana’s second-largest Easter Egg Hunt returns to the Dinosaur Museum this weekend. Kids can search for up to 20,000 eggs with candy and coupons from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.—the event features an Easter Bunny meet-and-greet, face painting, crafts, and a petting zoo, with donations aiding museum projects.  WSBT

  • Eddie Bauer corporate announced that the Granger store will close on April 30 as part of a plan to shut over 170 locations after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The closure is set to take effect next month.  ABC 57

  • Leah Foor of NorthWood High School was named South Bend Tribune Student of the Week for March 23. The high-achieving senior excels in academics, athletics, and community service as she leads her student council and volunteers locally.  South Bend Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City of South Bend launched its draft Age-Friendly Plan Friday night in partnership with REAL Services & community partners, outlining strategies to improve housing, transportation, and accessibility for residents; officials are seeking feedback to guide future improvements.  WSBT
  • A bus driver at Transpo is under review after a viral Facebook video showed him rushing an older passenger who needed help loading his bike, with the agency stating his conduct does not meet its service standards + anyone with extra information is asked to come forward.  WSBT
  • Indiana BMV has made the Space Force license plate available for Air Force veterans and active military today; Gov. Braun and VA Director Jake Adams said veterans should display their service with pride — a new way to honor their contributions.  WSBT

  • Second Chance Small Dog Rescue has partnered with Dog Town Resort in Middlebury to help find a forever home for Kobe, an active 7-year-old dog (neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and needing a secure fenced yard) who loves to run and play outside.  South Bend Tribune

SPORTS NEWS

  • The South Bend Cubs introduced specialty hot dogs with names and flavors inspired by visiting teams. The new items will be served at the Franx concession stand every home game this season — adding a fun twist to game day.  WSBT
  • South Bend Cubs will kick off the baseball season next week at Four Winds Field after $48 million in renovations, including a new second-level concourse for VIP experiences and expanded suites (with updated seating and amenities).
