- ➤ Resale to the Rescue hosted the S/NO Ball Dance Party today in South Bend—raising funds for local animal rescues to support spay and neutering programs and adoption efforts. The event reached a milestone—donating its one millionth dollar to core partners including Saint Joe County Humane Society, Pet Refuge, Heartland Small Animal Rescue, Frans Fund, and Meow Mission. - ➤ On Saturday, the South Bend Fire Department hosted its Girls on Fire event to encourage more women to join its firefighting ranks. Nearly 250 firefighters serve the department with only 10 women, and 15 women attended the event—participating in a Q&A session and workout. WSBT

- ➤ BookCon was held Saturday at the St. Joe County Public Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.—attendees browsed books from local sellers, enjoyed food trucks and presentations on writing, and met authors from around Michiana. WSBT
- ➤ Today, the Michiana Aquarium Society held its 55th annual double feature event at Resurrection Lutheran Academy in South Bend—hundreds attended the free Swap Meet and Fish Show and an auction for aquarium items will be held tomorrow. ABC 57
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ South Bend Community School Corp is expanding its Pre-K programs by increasing full-day classes from nine to 19 at local elementary schools—families can register starting April 1, and children must be 4 by August 1 to qualify. A Pre-K Enrollment Fair is scheduled for May 12 at the Brown Administration Building gym to help parents complete the process. South Bend Tribune
