- ➤ In 1965, Notre Dame announced that undergraduates would pay $1,500 per academic year starting next fall—ND President Rev. Hesburgh said rising educational costs required the increase. - ➤ Strong storms tore through Michiana Sunday afternoon, leaving widespread damage, power outages, and fallen trees on houses and cars. A confirmed tornado near Sturgis (per the National Weather Service) and winds above 80 mph (with several reports of hail) added to the damage, though emergency management reported no injuries and temperatures will drop into the 30s today.
