COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Portage Township launched its April Spring Cleaning program to help residents offset rising laundry costs. The program will provide gift cards to Burton’s Laundry (supporting working families with extra expenses) for those receiving township services. WSBT
- ➤ On March 29, 2026, We Make Indiana held a Palm Sunday march in South Bend where diverse faith groups gathered to promote compassion and care—participants received palm leaves and chanted hymns as they moved through downtown. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ South Bend is starting its spring construction season with projects to improve pedestrian safety on the East Bank, including a Colfax Avenue streetscape and repairs to the Madison Lifestyle District. Road closures are temporary and will continue through summer. WSBT
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Nfluence Church in Granger hosts the Freedom Truck Mobile Museum exhibit with interactive displays + AI portraits of founding figures and artifacts from the American Revolution. The free exhibit runs today until 5 p.m. WSBT
- ➤ At the Morris Performing Arts Center, the 3rd Annual South Bend High School Music Festival featured over 250 students from Washington, Adams and Riley high schools performing in 14 ensembles, with all groups joining for a final work. Local colleges were onsite to discuss higher education opportunities with the students. WSBT

- ➤ The Hoosier Lottery reported that a $50,000 winning Powerball ticket sold at Murphy's USA on North Oak Road in Plymouth matched four of five numbers in Monday's drawing. The winner is advised to secure the ticket, talk with a financial advisor, and call the lottery for prize instructions. WSBT

- ➤ INDOT is planning a diverging diamond interchange east of the Amazon data center and battery plant to ease traffic (it will allow drivers to make more efficient left turns) on Larrison Boulevard and Strawberry Road. South Bend Tribune
