South Bend Public Works invites local artists to participate in a Storm Drain Art Contest — a project to raise awareness of pollutants in downtown storm drains.

Applications are open until April 30 and selected artists will be paid $250 to create murals ahead of First Fridays on June 5.

The Food Bank of Northern Indiana is launching mobile pantries this month to distribute boxed and bagged food on a first-come, first-served, drive-through basis at sites across the area— from Trinity Lutheran Church in Culver to the Food Bank in South Bend.

Pickups run from April 6 to April 24.
