- ➤ South Bend Public Works invites local artists to participate in a Storm Drain Art Contest — a project to raise awareness of pollutants in downtown storm drains. Applications are open until April 30 and selected artists will be paid $250 to create murals ahead of First Fridays on June 5. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ The Food Bank of Northern Indiana is launching mobile pantries this month to distribute boxed and bagged food on a first-come, first-served, drive-through basis at sites across the area— from Trinity Lutheran Church in Culver to the Food Bank in South Bend. - ➤ Gas prices in Indiana and across the U.S. continued rising as the national average hit $4.09 per gallon on Friday, with some stations in Columbus and Scottsburg offering prices below $3.40. Oklahoma recorded the lowest average at $3.226 per gallon. South Bend Tribune

- ➤ County leaders in St. Joseph County clarified decommissioning bonds for solar farms — companies must pay a $250,000 bond with plans to raise the amount for future cleanup costs. Community members remain concerned over potential defaults shifting extra cleanup burdens to property owners. WSBT
