- ➤ Community members marched from the Civil Rights Heritage Center to the new Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Center in South Bend on April 4—officials and local leaders held a ribbon cutting and guided a tour at 1522 Linden Ave. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ South Bend’s 34th annual Human Rights Awareness and Award Luncheon will feature human rights attorney Joshua V. Barr as its keynote on April 22nd at the Century Center — tickets cost $40 per person with a table for eight priced at $300. - ➤ St. Joseph County will soon add five new tornado sirens and upgrade all 67 existing sirens with new motherboards using $1.5 million from the American Rescue Plan. Officials said installations will begin in the next two weeks in Lakeville, Penn township, along State Road 23 and in North Liberty — aiming to allow precise alerts during severe weather. WSBT
