COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Renovations at Kennedy Park have been greenlit by the Redevelopment Commission and an increased DNR grant, meaning construction could start next month in South Bend. The project will add a new swimming pool, playground, pavilions, and sports courts (two pickleball courts and a basketball court), with the pool planned to open by next Fourth of July.  WSBT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting Tuesday, South Bend's Ireland Road between Miami and Ironwood will run one lane per direction for a pavement project that will slow traffic until the end of June — drivers should plan ahead for delays.  WSBT
  • South Bend International Airport hosts its annual live fire training today from 8 a.m. until noon on the northwest corner of the airfield — flights remain unaffected as crews follow FAA requirements.  WSBT

  • Notre Dame linebacker coach Brian Jean-Mary ran a partner exercise yesterday where players paired up to offer feedback on techniques (improving footwork and tackles) and headset calls during practice. The method builds trust and fine-tunes on-field performance.  South Bend Tribune
