- ➤ South Bend Medical Foundation bought ChartPro, a medical records company in Atlanta, to boost its electronic health record services—ChartPro will keep its name and around 30 to 40 employees. - ➤ South Bend Police investigated a shooting on the 500 block of W. Colfax Avenue near Main Street on Sunday around 1:15 p.m. when officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert & treated one person for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound as the South Bend Violent Crimes Unit began its investigation. - ➤ South Bend Police engaged in a multi-hour standoff at an apartment on West Marion Street on April 24 when officers found over 150 grams of suspected cocaine plus a firearm and other drug items, charging 70-year-old Donald Anderson with four felonies and 49-year-old Terrance Snelling with two misdemeanors. CFO Ahnaf Tamid said the extra money—spent using a special process on July 31 after his October appointment—is under review by the State Board of Accounts, and the board approved a contract for a private investigator who began work in February. - ➤ Ivy Tech now offers a new program that lets surgical technologist students practice mock surgeries, clean equipment and get ready for the operating room—giving them real-world experience in South Bend.
