- ➤ The Food Bank of Northern Indiana announced its May Mobile Food Distributions that will provide free pre-boxed food items at drive-thru and self-loading sites with each household limited to one package—supplies available while they last. - ➤ A car crashed through the front of Einstein Bros. Bagels at 2019 S. Bend Ave on Wednesday morning after 8:30 a.m.—fire officials used two struts to support the wall while a tow truck removed the vehicle and no injuries were reported as investigators looked into the cause. ABC 57
- ➤ On Wednesday morning, a vehicle crashed into Einstein Bros. Bagels on South Bend Avenue + no one was injured. Firefighters stabilized a load-bearing wall + a towing company then removed the vehicle. WSBT

- ➤ South Bend Police warned that fake panhandlers using false posters claiming a child's death from tumor cancer were spotted near Olive Street and Western Avenue — locals should check donation requests carefully before giving money. WSBT

- ➤ Goshen resident Ben Ganger, a 30-year-old opera singer with the South Bend Lyric Opera who co-founded the local Opera on Tap group, won his second consecutive Jeopardy game on April 30, earning $16,816—his two-day total reached $41,815 and he will return on the show today. South Bend Tribune

- ➤ Ivy Tech’s automotive program in South Bend teaches students to diagnose and repair modern vehicles such as newer automobiles + diesel trucks while also building essential computer skills.
