- ➤ A LaPorte resident who bought a winning Powerball ticket at Al’s Supermarket split a $143 million jackpot with a Kansas player, earning nearly $72 million each — 19 additional winners in Michigan City, South Bend and Warsaw claimed prizes over $1 million, marking Indiana’s first win since 2017. - ➤ The SBA now offers disaster loans to help restore damaged property in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana areas hit by March tornadoes. Physical damage loan applications are due by June 29 + economic injury applications by January 28. WNDU
- ➤ Jackson Road closed from May 1 due to NIPSCO gas main work will have reduced weekday access and full weekend closures until May 22 — drivers detour via Ireland Road. Locust Road is also closed from May 4 to May 8 for sewer and water main work. South Bend Tribune
