Reontre Lawrence, a 26-year-old from South Bend, was sentenced to 80 years in prison after he was found guilty of fatally shooting 20-year-old Amarion Kirk and 22-year-old Jasani Taylor outside Quality Inn on Lincoln Way West — he was arrested in Indianapolis nearly two weeks later.

Fifty first responders in St. Joseph County completed crisis intervention training at a ceremony at the South Bend Police Department.
