- ➤ St. Joseph County Public Library reopened its renovated LaSalle Branch on May 4 and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to celebrate new community spaces, an art studio, and expanded collaboration areas (creating a destination on South Bend’s west side). WSBT

- ➤ Great Lakes Capital's proposed 200-apartment complex in Lincoln Township has been on hold since January as developers work to sort out an issue with state tax incentives after the township postponed its TIF plan to recoup public safety revenue. WSBT

- ➤ Mishawaka Marian hired Matt Sobieralski as its new boys basketball head coach on May 11. With 16 seasons as an assistant, he said he will build on the program’s winning legacy while keeping its familiar culture. South Bend Tribune
