ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ South Bend firefighters rescued a dog from a house fire on MacGregor Road at about 2 p.m. Saturday, and investigators suspect that improperly discarded smoking materials triggered the blaze which was controlled within 20 minutes. WSBT
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Northern Darkness Garrison 501st Legion joined fans at Cinemark Movies 14 in Mishawaka for the opening weekend of The Mandalorian & Grogu and showcased screen-accurate costumes that brought Star Wars to life; the group will appear at the Hall of Heroes Comic Con on May 30 and May 31. WNDU
- ➤ The Mishawaka Historical Museum displays Elizabeth Richardson’s World War Two footlocker containing her letters, diary and flag draped over her casket for Memorial Day — it was found on a San Pablo embankment and returned after years in obscurity.
