- ➤ South Bend’s Gene’s Camera owners Jon Gilchrist and Melaney Miller will present 'The Long Exposure: Photography History and a Community Camera Store' at The History Museum’s Insights in History event, 1:30 p.m. June 3. - ➤ South Bend Lyric Opera marks its 10th anniversary with Puccini's La Bohème performed at IUSB Campus Auditorium. The opera runs May 29-30 and June 5-6 at 7:30 p.m.+ Tickets are $50 for general admission and $20 for students featuring singers from Indiana and beyond. South Bend Tribune

- ➤ Mishawaka and Byrkit Avenues were closed yesterday for sewer and utility work; the Byrkit closure covers the Club Boulevard area and Mishawaka Avenue from Byrkit to State Street, with Cedar Street as a detour until Aug. 11. WSBT
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ City officials updated on Thursday that construction is underway on the Madison Lifestyle District just south of Memorial Hospital. The project — part of a $330 million downtown investment — will add new apartments, a hotel, commercial space and a parking garage set to begin in the first half of 2027. WSBT
