- ➤ Community leaders gathered at Morris Performing Arts Center today to call for peace and unity after a shooting on the southeast side left a woman dead last night. Religious leaders and a council member stressed that all community members should work together—across all cultures—to reduce violence and build a safer area. WSBT
- ➤ U-93 and South Bend Venues Parks and Arts will host Operation Duck Drop on Sunday at 10 a.m. when over 1,000 rubber ducks will be dropped into the East Race Waterway downtown to raise funds for child abuse prevention (participants pay $10 each and the first 93 ducks collected win a prize while a free concert follows). - ➤ Kit is an 8-month-old pet with a soft coat and gentle nature who is now available for adoption at the South Bend Animal Resource Center+ she is spayed, microchipped and good with kids, dogs and cats. WSBT

- ➤ The American Red Cross has asked South Bend donors to give blood or platelets this month as hurricane season may quickly lower the available supply—especially for those donating Type O blood and platelets.
