- ➤ South Bend fire crews rescued a man from the St. Joseph River beneath the Colfax Avenue Bridge on June 10 — officers performing a welfare check spotted him, and swift water personnel got him to shore before medics took him to the hospital for evaluation. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ On Tuesday, police responded to a welfare check near Colfax Avenue and MLK Blvd and saw a man by the pier under the Colfax bridge in downtown South Bend—firefighters rescued him from the St. Joseph River and took him to the hospital for observation. WSBT
