EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ South Bend Community Schools approved a one-time $2,500 stipend for all paraprofessionals, a $2,000 signing bonus for future hires and a $500 bonus for Instructional Assistants and Aides — the board passed the measure on Monday. WSBT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A major roundabout project in Granger will begin next Monday when the Cleveland Road and Beech Road intersection closes for several months—crews will build a new roundabout expected to open in October. The project was delayed a few weeks because NIPSCO faced issues before the intersection could close. WSBT
- ➤ On Wednesday, Mayor James Mueller and Public Works Director Eric Horvath held a press conference to remind property owners about a city program that reimburses curb and sidewalk repairs—offering $15 per foot for curbs and $20 per foot for sidewalks with increased rates in target areas such as $30, $40 and $950 for ADA ramps. City officials said nearly 100 reimbursements were processed last year and encouraged more residents to sign up to enhance neighborhood walkability. ABC 57
