  • Junior Achievement held its 7th Annual Wine & Beer Festival at Four Winds Field yesterday with over 75 beverage options from local wineries and breweries + proceeds helped fund financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness classes for students in St. Joseph County.  WSBT
  • Mermaid Invisible is a 3.5-year-old dog available for adoption at the Humane Society of St. Joseph County in Mishawaka. She loves walks, playing in the snow, and cuddling—her adoption fee has been waived for a new family to welcome her.  South Bend Tribune

CULTURE NEWS

  • The 58th annual Leeper Park Art Fair starts today at Leeper Park in South Bend with over 90 craft makers, woodworkers, and glass blowers, new food vendors, and a DJ entertaining families. The fair runs until 6 p.m. today and until 5 p.m. Sunday (free shuttle from Century Center) (handicap parking available at Beacon Hospital lot).  WSBT
  • Notre Dame will host free Juneteenth celebrations on Friday evening — it is the third year the campus offers a community space where residents can enjoy food, music and learn about local cultural programs.  ABC 57

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Notre Dame and Ancora are developing a Tech and Talent District in downtown South Bend using the former Tribune building at 225 W. Colfax Ave.—the project will focus on research in data analytics, AI, and advanced computing and include community workshops. Construction will begin later this year after design and planning work is completed.  South Bend Tribune

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Schools, nonprofits and organizations across St. Joseph County are set to run dozens of summer camps that offer themed activities, hands-on learning and sports for children from preschool through grade 12. Camps run from June 16 through August with varying costs and scholarships available—helping families choose options that suit their needs.  South Bend Tribune

  • Tribune will host a virtual discussion Tuesday at 6 p.m. on its Facebook page to review the progress and challenges of South Bend’s Community Review Board, which began police oversight earlier this year — panelists include board member Cheryl Ashe, attorney Bob Masters, Council President Canneth Lee, police lodge president Joshua Morgan and former council member Lori Hamann.  South Bend Tribune
