  • Shortcakes on the Blacktop is celebrating 31 years today at the Cathedral of St. James parking lot in downtown South Bend—running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with homemade shortcake, fresh strawberries, ice cream and whipped cream for $7, and pre-purchased tickets guarantee treats until 2:30 p.m. while proceeds benefit St. Margaret’s House, Dismas House and Imagination Library through the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County.  WSBT

  • A 39-year-old motorcyclist died when his motorcycle crashed with a minivan in Granger on S.R. 23 just before 5:00 p.m.—the van driver received minor injuries.  WSBT

  • Four years ago at a Juneteenth celebration at the former Heavenly Goat Brewery in Mishawaka, a shooting killed one man and injured four + the investigation has not led to any arrests, leaving the victim's family to seek justice.  WSBT

  • Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita said he received a long written response from Notre Dame about his inquiry into the school’s DEI policies and is reviewing it—he also criticized Sheriff Bill Redman for allegedly not following ICE detainer requests and noted that a lawsuit over poor conditions at a LaPorte mobile home park remains in early stages.  WSBT
