- ➤ Indiana will implement several new laws on July 1 that aim to boost public safety and ease record expungement. The changes require violent arrestees to appear before a judge for bail, impose stricter penalties for fentanyl offenses, grant immunity in alcohol emergencies, and allow automatic expungement for firearm seizure records—steps that are set to affect many Hoosiers.
