CRIME NEWS

  • Nicholas Stanley, arrested for murdering a sex offender, confessed during a remote video call that he killed Allen Cogswell on June 24—he later pleaded not guilty at his initial hearing on Thursday morning and his trial is set for Oct. 6 at 8 a.m.  ABC 57

CULTURE NEWS

  • South Bend welcomes its fourth annual Mural Mania where artists from several states display their work and perform live demonstrations to boost city pride—this event runs through today at Howard Park, Aloft Hotel, Purple Porch Co-op, Z-Stone, and the Main and Wayne Street parking garages.  WSBT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • INDOT announced that ramps at S.R. 2 and U.S. 20/31 will be closed during daytime work hours from July 7 through July 11 for S.R. 2 resurfacing — ramps to and from eastbound S.R. 2 will close on July 7 and those for westbound S.R. 2 on July 8. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and use alternate routes as the schedule is weather dependent.  ABC 57
