- ➤ St. Joseph County Police are asking for help to identify a suspect linked to a vehicle theft in Granger that occurred Monday — the suspect was seen at Walmart on Ash Road using a stolen credit card. ABC 57
- ➤ A South Bend man, 47-year-old Scott Byrd, was arrested on July 16 on a level six felony charge for meth possession after police searched a car wash on Lincoln Way West around 8 p.m. on July 15—he is now held at the county jail. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ 20-year-old Quadir Quiroz of South Bend pleaded guilty to Hobbs Act robbery and brandishing a firearm—he carjacked a person at gunpoint and later robbed a gas station while striking an employee—and was sentenced to 18 years in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release. ABC 57
- ➤ South Bend police arrested 47-year-old Scott Byrd during Tuesday's search warrants on Lincoln Way West after recovering suspected methamphetamine, THC chews, hydrocodone, prescription antibiotic pills and other paraphernalia at a local car wash and vehicle—and he is now awaiting a formal charging decision. - ➤ South Bend Police arrested 28-year-old Devin Myers after he led officers on a pursuit on July 15th near Diamond and California avenues—he faces charges for marijuana possession and an outstanding warrant while an officer’s SUV struck a tree during the chase without causing injury. WSBT

- ➤ The Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival is celebrating 25 years of serving Michiana with world-class productions of Shakespeare’s works. The festival will feature a free, ticketed ShakeScenes performance on July 19 at 2 p.m. at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, an adults-only Shakespeare After Hours on July 25 at LangLab for $15, and a production of King Lear from August 21—Aug. 31 with related pre-show and post-show events.
