- ➤ Over the weekend, lifeguards rescued swimmers from dangerous rip currents at Lake Michigan beaches, with Michigan City's Washington Park rescuing two swimmers on July 20—while New Buffalo guards saved about 13 people over two days amid strong structural currents near the pier.
