- ➤ The City of South Bend Public Works will begin reconstructing Riverside Drive today from Boland Drive to just south of Cleveland Road— the road will remain closed until mid-October. Detour routes are planned on Cleveland Road and Boland Drive via Portage Avenue while access for the Chet Waggoner Little League stays open off Cleveland Road. ABC 57
- ➤ Mary McAfee, director of Engagement & Economic Empowerment, stopped by ABC57 for Summer's Spotlight to discuss the city's IGNITE grants that offer neighborhood associations between $5 to $15,000 for local improvement projects. - ➤ Notre Dame athletic director Pete Bevacqua said the team’s checklist is complete as practice starts Thursday, and head coach Marcus Freeman along with his staff believe the strong alignment of academics, facilities, recruitment and coaching will boost their bid for a national championship.
