  • Police said one man died in an early-morning shooting at the 500 block of East 12th Street in Mishawaka and are treating the incident as isolated—authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.  South Bend Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Purdue pharmacy student Yeonsoo Go was detained by ICE on July 31 for allegedly overstaying her visa and released on Monday, Aug. 4 after five days in custody — her visa is reported to be valid until December — and she has now returned home.  South Bend Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • Today, the St. Joseph County Health Department held its first mobile vaccine clinic at John Young Middle School to help families & students catch up on required vaccines before school starts. Officials announced three more clinics will be held to boost immunization rates and reduce barriers to access.  WSBT
