- ➤ Resurfacing of SR 2 is complete but heavy traffic continues as drivers experience longer commutes near the construction zones at the Amazon Data Center and General Motors Battery Plant—local police have issued more warnings and citations. WSBT
- ➤ Police and school officials in Mishawaka and South Bend are urging drivers to slow down in school zones as student traffic increases before and after classes. Mishawaka enforces a 20 mph limit and South Bend a 25 mph limit—officials will strictly enforce these rules around crossing guards, school buses and intersections. South Bend Tribune
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ South Bend’s East Side All-Stars won the Babe Ruth World Series last weekend — the 12U team stayed undefeated by scoring 51 runs and giving up only one while the 14U team beat Australia with a close 9—8 win; a celebration ceremony is planned for the future. ABC 57
- ➤ Notre Dame coach Ja’Juan Seider said the team will likely use running backs Love and Price on kickoff returns in its Aug. 31 opener against Miami ranked 10th.
