  • The 59th annual Marshall County Blueberry Festival will take place this Labor Day weekend at Centennial Park in Plymouth with 500000 people expected — ABC57 and local organizers are setting up the event and highlighting its origins from 1966 when local firefighters started it with Blueberry Hank.  ABC 57

  • South Bend woman Rachael Robinson, 37, pleaded guilty to federal wire fraud for submitting two fraudulent Paycheck Protection Program applications for a non-existent business in 2021—she was ordered to repay $55,280.87 in restitution.  WSBT

  • Concord High School students built a tiny home that sold on Friday; 60 third-year Building Trades Program students worked from plumbing to roofing—gaining hands-on skills—and connected with a buyer from Alabama.  WSBT

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A new report from Alliance for the Great Lakes warns that the region may face water shortages as data centers in New Carlisle and eastern St. Joseph County draw water from the Kankakee Aquifer. The report shows these centers use water at a rate similar to 12,000 residents — urging local officials to plan better for future water needs.  ABC 57

  • Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman said his team will bring different cleat options to play safely during the season opener against Miami tomorrow at Hard Rock Stadium — he added that the venue regularly hosts many games and is ready for rain.
