CULTURE NEWS

  • On Saturday, Yart brought local artists to a wooded area between W. Chippewa Avenue and W. Ireland Road where they showcased paintings, jewelry, bug sculptures, and performance art—an event that blended art with nature.  ABC 57

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Transpo will offer free Game Day Express service on September 6 for the Zach Bryan concert using its home Notre Dame football game route and funding from Visit South Bend/Mishawaka. The service will run three hours before and two hours after the concert plus include free parking at the Century Center Parking Lot with adjustments on routes #5 and #7 to manage increased traffic.  ABC 57
  • Starting Tuesday, Sept 2—South Bend officials will mill and resurface old US 31 from Kern Road to the city limits while keeping the street open with restrictions—and the three-lane corridor is expected to be completed at the beginning of October if weather permits.  ABC 57
  • The city of Mishawaka announced that the intersection of S. Byrkit Ave and E. Seventh St will close at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2 for utility installations—truck traffic will detour to Capital Ave using Lincolnway East and E. Twelfth St until 6 p.m. on Friday, September 12.  ABC 57
