- ➤ The Chicago Welcome Table visited the Berean Transformation Center on South St. Joseph Street on Saturday to offer homeless community members haircuts, clothing, food, housing help and jobs — the event ran from noon to 4 p.m. The group focuses on fighting homelessness and human trafficking. - ➤ Logan Walk and Roll 2025 returned for its third year at the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend—bringing together Logan’s clients, families, friends, sponsors and the broader community to support its programs and promote inclusion. ABC 57

- ➤ A house fire broke out just after 4 a.m. Saturday on West Jefferson Boulevard in Mishawaka, killing one person and leaving another critically injured after firefighters rescued a resident while an investigation began. WSBT

- ➤ Zach Bryan will perform at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend soon with Shane Gillis and Dermont Kennedy, drawing fans with one visitor even driving from Georgia to see the show—many local concert-goers look forward to hearing Shane Gillis share stories about Notre Dame and the community. - ➤ The Penn Marching Kingsmen are hosting a shoe drive fundraiser to collect any type of shoes so they can support their band program and help small businesses in developing nations — donations are accepted at Penn High School through door A with a goal of 12,500 shoes by September 19. WSBT
- ➤ The Indiana Department of Transportation has opened its Engineering Scholarship Program applications for eligible undergraduate and graduate Civil Engineering students—applicants will receive $3125 per semester or $2083 per trimester over up to five years and will work full-time during summer breaks, with applications due by Dec. 31 for the 2026-2027 school year.
