- ➤ A new Kosher grocery store will open in downtown South Bend on September 16 from 12pm to 6pm. The store offers fresh produce, meat, sandwiches and a full-service bakery that serves only Kosher items — it will also hold a ribbon-cutting with food samples and kid games — to meet a local need for accessible groceries. - ➤ Radio Sabor Latino cancelled its 23-year Mexican and Central American Independence Day festival at the Marycrest building parking lot on Western Avenue after organizers said rising ICE targeting put the Latino community at risk — the event will be held as a private gathering instead. ABC 57
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Midwest gas prices fell last week to an average of $3.06 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday—down from $3.09 the previous week and about 4.3% below the national average. South Bend Tribune
