  • Parisi’s Ristorante Italiano at 1412 S Bend Ave is set to close at the end of the week as owner Roberto Parisi retires after 44 years of dedicated service—his final customer appreciation party on Sunday has already received over 300 reservations.  ABC 57

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Regional gas prices in the Midwest fell last week to an average of $2.93 per gallon from $3.01, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The price is about 6.1% lower than the national average and dropped roughly 16 cents since last month—showing a steady decline.  South Bend Tribune

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students and staff at Notre Dame took part in the Zombie Preparedness Festival today to learn life-saving skills like CPR, fire safety, and food preservation in a hands-on setting. More than 30 booths gave live demos and exercises—helping everyone practice quick decision-making for real emergencies.  WSBT
  • On Sept. 30, the parents of Adams High School freshman Aniya Tharbs filed a lawsuit against the South Bend Community School Corporation, John Adams High School, the City of South Bend, and St. Joseph County alleging that the district did not give proper aid during a medical episode that led to her death in 2023.  ABC 57
