- ➤ The Montessori Academy Edison Lakes in partnership with the South Bend Center for the Homeless will host the annual Fall Frolic 2K/5K on October 18 to support a Montessori Early Childhood classroom for homeless preschoolers — the event features a timed 5K run and a family 2K run with a fall festival. Registration fees are $45 for the race and $10 per family for the festival, with sign-ups available until 9:30 a.m. on race day. ABC 57

Indiana Farm Bureau economist Todd Davis warned that if the trade tensions with China are not resolved, South American soybeans will hit the market in about four months—threatening the value of the surplus. - ➤ Yesterday, Notre Dame junior Hannah Hidalgo was named the Preseason ACC Women's Basketball Player of the Year by ACC coaches and media for the 2025-26 season—she led the team last season with strong scoring and defense. - ➤ Tommy Ahneman is a 6-foot-10 freshman backup power forward for Notre Dame basketball who was the top-ranked prospect and Gatorade Player of the Year at Cretin-Durham Hall.
