CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Mishawaka Utilities warned residents about scam calls that claim past-due balances, saying the calls are fake (residents should hang up and not share personal details). WSBT
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Studebaker National Museum in South Bend opened a special exhibition—Reel Rides: Cars of TV & Films—that shows iconic vehicles from film and television, including a 1966 Ford Thunderbird, a 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi, and a 1974 AMC Hornet X. The exhibit opened on October 24 and will run until May 25. ABC 57
- ➤ Emilie Utigard started the Children's Museum of South Bend to honor her late son Finn, and the museum plans to expand its space and exhibits. It will hold a fundraising gala—A Night of Infinite Wonder—on Nov. 7 at The Armory to support future growth. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ The Michiana Festival of Beers will take place at Four Winds Field in South Bend from 2 pm to 6 pm to support the nonprofit Rescue—Release—Repeat. The event will offer unlimited beer sampling, food, and live music while promoting local craft beer culture and responsible consumption. WSBT
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A three mile walk on Saturday morning—held along Northside Boulevard in South Bend—brought about 850 people together to support breast cancer patients and fund local research and patient support programs. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the largest event of its kind in North Central Indiana, showing strong community support. WSBT

- ➤ High school football scores were released for South Bend area and Indiana statewide sectionals played on Oct. 24, 2025—local results featured Plymouth's 44-23 win over South Bend Washington while teams across Classes 4A to 1A posted other outcomes. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ Notre Dame lost an exhibition game to DePaul 69-62 at Purcell Pavilion, and head coach Micah Shrewsberry said the loss showed the need for more mature play from veteran players ahead of the regular season. The game followed a win over Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse and served as a wake-up call for the team to improve before its season opener. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ Bremen girls soccer beat Lapel 4 to 0 on Saturday to win a Class 1A semistate title and advance to its first state championship game—scheduled for either Friday or Saturday at IU Indianapolis’ Michael Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ Junior Kendall Bradley scored two goals to help Mishawaka Marian win 2 to 0 against Delta in the IHSAA semistate championship on Oct. 25—her performance secured the team's advancement to the state finals where they will face Park Tudor at a date to be announced. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ Notre Dame football is nearing its season’s end with five games remaining and the team aims for another College Football Playoff bid.
