  • The St. Joseph County Parks and PetConnect Inc. hosted a tail waggin hayride today at Bendix Park—pet owners enjoyed hayrides, s’mores, and hot chocolate—donations from the event went to PetConnect Inc.  ABC 57

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Music Village hosted a fall open house in South Bend so local residents could explore the space, meet board members, try an instrument with a TMV instructor, and enjoy live music and light refreshments. The organization also unveiled its Capital Expansion Project — which includes a new recording arts studio and nine classrooms — and launched a Future Fund to raise $100,000.  WSBT
  • On Nov. 6, 1946, telephone operator M. Sellers answered calls about voting precinct locations two minutes before polls closed while working at 548 Lincoln Way East. Her busy work during that election was recorded in Tribune coverage—she remains a notable part of local history.  South Bend Tribune
  • Bethel University’s Department of Music and Theater will present Into the Woods with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, a book by James Lapine, and orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick. Performances will be held on Friday, November 7 and 14 at 7 p.m. — Saturday, November 8 and 15 at 1 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Auditorium on campus, with tickets costing $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, and $10 for children 10 and under.  ABC 57

  • During Saturday's game, Notre Dame beat Boston College 25-10 but lost junior cornerback Christian Gray’s 18-game starting streak because of a left hip injury, with freshman Mark Zackery IV stepping in to play nearly every snap. Coach Marcus Freeman said Gray was close to returning yet was held out as a precaution—more than seven snaps came from nickelback DeVonta Smith for the first time since their road win over Arkansas.  South Bend Tribune
  • Notre Dame will face Navy at Notre Dame Stadium that seats 77,622 on Saturday, Nov 8th at 7:30 p.m. EDT—NBC will air the prime time game. The home team is a 24.5 point favorite and leads the series 81—13—1.  South Bend Tribune
  • Voters are urged to choose the Week 11 South Bend Tribune Football Player of the Week—polling will close on November 6 at 11:59 p.m. as strong local high school athletes vie for the honor.  South Bend Tribune
  • Notre Dame football moved up to No. 10 in the US LBM Coaches Poll after a 25-10 win over Boston College, and the 6-2 Irish are now the highest ranked two-loss team in the poll. Three teams ranked ahead of them lost their games this past weekend.  South Bend Tribune
  • Voting is open until 11:59 p.m. ET Thursday for the South Bend Tribune High School Girls Basketball Preseason Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season—voters may cast as many votes as they like during the poll.  South Bend Tribune
  • Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr explained an unusual 40-yard touchdown pass to Malachi Fields that helped the team win 25-10 over Boston College.  South Bend Tribune
