- ➤ At a November 4 meeting, community leaders discussed a plan to restore Portage Manor, a vacant county-owned assisted living facility at Portage Avenue and Cleveland Road, where St. Thomas More Academy may move in. The plan, led by Kevin Powers (head of the academy) and ecological expert Steve Sass, will invest 5 to 7 million dollars from grants and donations to restore the building and enhance the surrounding 100 acres for public use, though some residents raised concerns about future access.
