- ➤ Santa Claus returns tomorrow at University Park Mall—where the Santa Photo Experience runs until Christmas Eve with photo packages from $39.99 to $59.99 and a tree lighting event featuring a live reindeer, jugglers, stilt walkers, balloon artists and circus performers from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 14. - ➤ Elkhart Civic Theatre will show Stephen Sondheim’s musical Merrily We Roll Along at the Bristol Opera House from Nov. 14 to Nov. 23—featuring a cast with Ryan Schisler, Sean Leyes, and Leah Alburtus. Performances will run at 7:30 p.m. on most dates and at 3 p.m. on Nov. 23—tickets are available through the theater box office. South Bend Tribune
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ An investigation by the Department of Commerce into Italian pasta makers could lead to a 107% tariff that may raise pasta prices while local importer Bamber's said it already stocked up after a 15% tariff was imposed in August. If the tariff passes, it will take effect in 2026 and might affect grocers, importers, and wholesalers — the investigation is still ongoing. WSBT

- ➤ St. Joseph County Council passed a resolution yesterday to preserve Portage Manor and repurpose the vacant assisted living facility in South Bend (the site has been empty since 2023). St. Thomas More Academy plans to use its own funds to redevelop the property. WSBT

- ➤ Pittsburgh prepares to face Notre Dame on Saturday at Acrisure Stadium — coach Pat Narduzzi said his team will use its top-ranked rush defense to target tailbacks Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, who have combined for 22 rushing touchdowns this season. South Bend Tribune
- ➤ Notre Dame junior Hannah Hidalgo scored 44 points and made 16 steals in 27 minutes 31 seconds as she set new school and NCAA records in a game against Akron — head coach Niele Ivey called it the best performance she has ever seen, noting her aggressive play was key to the win. - ➤ In a blowout win over Navy, Notre Dame linebackers freshman Madden Faraimo and sophomore Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa combined for nine tackles on 59 defensive snaps. Faraimo played 29 snaps and recorded four tackles while Viliamu-Asa made a crucial fourth-down stop—helping secure the 49-10 victory. South Bend Tribune
