- ➤ Local charities in South Bend will offer free Thanksgiving meals and holiday food packages during the season, with events beginning November 19 and continuing on November 26 and 27—organizations are also seeking food, money, and clothing donations as well as volunteers to support families in need. - ➤ Last week, a power outage knocked out the refrigerated sections at Super Target in Mishawaka, and Cultivate Food Rescue saved nearly 50,000 pounds of perishable food. Staff and volunteers spent over four hours to transfer the items—before they were given to local pantry partners on Wednesday. WSBT

- ➤ Manny's Sports Bar held its ribbon cutting—yesterday at the corner of Colfax and Niles in downtown South Bend—with Mayor James Mueller and Ernest Hospitality representatives present, and the bar is set to become a family-friendly venue featuring a 155-inch TV wall and a mix of traditional and Latin-inspired food, while it will operate six days a week in the winter—closed on Tuesdays.
