  • Downtown South Bend is hosting Downtown for the Holidays series with events including a Gingerbread Village Competition—entries are due by Dec. 3, a Holiday Light Parade on Dec. 12 with float applications due by Dec. 5, and a Festival of Trees sponsorship for $100 that supports holiday programming.  South Bend Tribune
  • Chico is a six-month-old owner surrender puppy up for adoption at the South Bend Animal Resource Center who loves playing with toys, learning tricks, and snuggling. He has striking black and white markings and a pink nose and would thrive in a home with kids.  WSBT
  • From Nov. 24 to 30, South Bend and nearby communities will host many family-friendly holiday events—featuring light shows, musicals, craft fairs, parades, and food drives—with several free activities and special guest appearances including Santa. SPORTS NEWS

  • Notre Dame basketball meets No. 23 Kansas today at 3:30 p.m. on TNT at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas—both teams look to overcome past challenges as the Irish, with a 4—1 record, face a 3—2 Kansas team in a key Players Era Festival game. The Irish hold a 9—3 series lead over Kansas and will aim to continue that trend in this matchup.  South Bend Tribune
  • Notre Dame linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa suffered a left knee injury against Syracuse Saturday and will miss the rest of the season, the team announced Sunday — this is his second straight Game 11 knee injury in consecutive seasons.  South Bend Tribune
  • After beating Syracuse 70—7, Notre Dame remains ranked ninth in the US LBM Coaches Poll. The team, now 9—2, will close its regular season at Stanford on Nov. 29.  South Bend Tribune
  • Voters can cast unlimited votes for the South Bend Tribune Athlete of the Week poll, which is open now until November 27 at 11:59 p.m. The nominees include high school athletes from football, basketball, swimming, wrestling and other sports events held from November 17-22 + the poll will help select the top performer of the week.  South Bend Tribune
