  • During the holiday season, the Humane Society of St. Joseph County welcomes locals to visit the shelter to adopt animals + provides resources for those in need.  South Bend Tribune
  • South Bend's historic Oliver Mansion will host its annual Christmas at Copshaholm event on Dec. 7 and 14 from 4 to 7 p.m.—visitors can enjoy self-guided tours of 38 rooms decorated with festive holiday decor, live music on a Steinway piano, and activities for children while reservations are recommended.  South Bend Tribune
  • Visit South Bend Mishawaka will begin managing the Century Center (effective January 1st) and plans to revamp the facility to attract more visitors downtown. The management change is part of broader community efforts to renew a long-standing local staple.  WSBT

  • Penn High School's Penn Marching Kingsmen Band will perform at the 106th Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia on Thursday, Nov 27. The parade will stream live at 9 a.m.—the band will play 'Santa’s Parade' and 'Strike Up The Band'.  South Bend Tribune
  • South Bend natives Jillian Speece and Nathaniel Paul Hoff will perform in their full band with the Notre Dame Children's Choir on select songs for 'A South Shore Christmas' at the Morris Performing Arts Center—set for Friday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m.—continuing a decade-long local tradition.  South Bend Tribune

SPORTS NEWS

  • Notre Dame linebacker Madden Faraimo earned more playing time on defense under the mentorship of Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, whose season-ending left knee injury against Syracuse forced Faraimo to take on extra responsibilities — a change that has been vital for the team — as he stepped up his role. Faraimo, from a family of strong athletes, has long shown the competitive spirit needed to rise in challenging times.  South Bend Tribune
  • Kansas beat Notre Dame 71—61 in Las Vegas Monday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena; the Irish fell short—trailing 13 points and missing key shots on critical possessions, coach Micah Shrewsberry said.  South Bend Tribune
  • Notre Dame sophomore Carli Cronk—a Texas native with hearing loss—is competing in her final Deaflympics in Tokyo from November 15 to November 29 and will return to campus with plans to build on her success. She has won multiple gold medals and set numerous records while balancing her studies and athletic training.  South Bend Tribune
