- ➤ Notre Dame is exploring new federal funding opportunities for space research after professor Dr. Kate Biberdorf visited Capitol Hill on Wed., Dec. 3. She said proposals must be submitted before Christmas to support nuclear chemistry research for upcoming space exploration. WSBT
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sub-zero temperatures today may freeze water pipes if actions are not taken; Citizens Energy advises residents to open cabinet doors and let faucets drip to protect plumbing. Homeowners should insulate pipes and know the water shut-off valve to prevent costly repairs. South Bend Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ South Shore secured local funding to move its airport terminal from the east to the west side of South Bend International Airport, cutting travel time by 12 to 15 minutes and reducing rail crossings from 22 to 3. The project awaits federal funding and FAA approval — groundbreaking may begin late 2026. WSBT
- ➤ Indiana DNR is accepting nominations for a 15-member Trails Advisory Board from Dec. 1+30 for outdoor enthusiasts representing hikers, bikers and other groups statewide.
