CULTURE NEWS

  • South Bend Civic Theatre will run The Best Christmas Pageant Ever from Dec. 12-21 at 403 N. Main St - the family holiday play based on Barbara Robinson's classic novel will offer a pay-what-you-can preview on Dec. 11 and multiple showtimes with ticket prices ranging from $27 to $35.  South Bend Tribune
  • ESPN veteran Ivan Maisel will present American Coach: Frank Leahy at The History Museum on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m., and the free talk will explore Knute Rockne and Frank Leahy’s bond as part of the Rockne Lecture Series and the exhibit Rockne: Life & Legacy.  South Bend Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • Franciscan Health offers free cancer support groups and classes in Michigan City throughout 2026. Groups meet 5 to 6 p.m. on even-month Mondays starting Feb. 2 and classes run 2 to 3 p.m. on odd-month Wednesdays starting March 4 at Woodland Cancer Center (8955 W. 400 N).  South Bend Tribune

SPORTS NEWS

  • Notre Dame basketball will host Idaho tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Purcell Pavilion; tickets are available and the game will be on ACC Network Extra + 960 WSBT-AM in South Bend. The matchup follows recent wins over Missouri and TCU.  South Bend Tribune
  • USA Today Network Indiana High School Boys Basketball poll released yesterday showed that Fishers remains the unanimous No. 1 in Class 4A after a 4-0 start & lower-ranked teams in Classes 3A, 2A and 1A saw notable shifts. Four No. 1 spots were maintained while many teams moved.  South Bend Tribune
  • Notre Dame football fans in South Bend are showing mixed emotions as the team ended its 2025 season on Sunday by opting out of bowl games, sparking both surprise and anticipation for next season.  WSBT
  • Notre Dame guard Markus Burton injured his left foot and ankle in his last game and is expected to require surgery + extended absence; he will miss the home contests against Idaho tomorrow, Evansville Saturday, and Purdue Fort Wayne Sunday.  South Bend Tribune
  • Notre Dame backup quarterback Kenny Minchey will enter the transfer portal when it opens on Jan. 2 — missing a boost from the College Football Playoff led to his decision. The redshirt sophomore appeared in six games this season and will have two seasons left to play.  South Bend Tribune
  • Notre Dame athletic director Pete Bevacqua said the ACC's support for Miami over the Irish has permanently damaged their partnership after the team missed a playoff spot. He made the remarks during a media tour on Monday, Dec. 8 in South Bend.  South Bend Tribune
  • Notre Dame football players, including running back Jeremiyah Love (a record setter), are finalists for awards such as the Maxwell, Doak Walker, and Walter Camp honors; winners will be announced in the coming days.  South Bend Tribune
