CULTURE NEWS

  • Today, South Bend families celebrate Nochebuena with traditional food, music, and prayers honoring Christ's birth as they gather in local homes and churches for festive dinners and cultural traditions.  South Bend Tribune

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Tribune congratulated 15 outstanding high school students named Student of the Week during fall 2025 — recognized by school administrators for academic and extracurricular success. The program will resume in January when school starts again.  South Bend Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Karl King Towers remains partly without heat (three of six boilers running) as Portage Township trustee Jason Critchlow said repairs have no timeline and a formal complaint has been filed with the Attorney General.  WSBT
  • The City of South Bend will resume leaf pickup today after heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures halted service last month. Crews in zone 7 will work as weather permits and remind residents to rake leaves free of snow (unclogging equipment requires clear, dry piles).  WSBT
