- ➤ Newton Park moved its annual free trunk or treat indoors on Saturday because of weather concerns — early gate access was offered for special needs families to ensure a safe event. The event raised food allergy awareness and Disney’s classic Hocus Pocus will be shown today at 5:30 p.m. at the indoor facility. WSBT
- ➤ On October 18, about 1,000 to 2,000 people gathered in downtown South Bend’s Jon Hunt Plaza for the 'No Kings 2' protest organized by the Michiana Alliance for Democracy as part of a national day of action against federal policies—organizers said the event began at noon with a program of speakers and a march along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. - ➤ Mishawaka will begin fall leaf pickup on October 27, and residents may start placing clean, debris-free leaves at the curb starting (October 25 and 26) so crews can follow a schedule based on each household’s regular trash pick-up day.
